Pros

Work in small teams where relationships built Flexible work arrangement with a con (see below)

Cons

"quality is our DNA" yet are willing to save costs by proceeding with cheap technologies. no future planning or development into future test/technologies zero development. disconnect with management. flexible work arrangement only IF it suits department (annual leave rejected) bullying into doing increased work loads. Management hire unqualified staff to reduce department costs which reduces productivity. Reduced xmas partying funding (no partners, changes in location etc) Getting a pay review is similar to climbing Everest. Toxic employees are moved from department to department as opposed to firing. No real benefits besides 11% discounted healthcare and parking at site.

Pros

The front line staff within corporate and the respective client counterparts are immensely talented and great to work with.

Cons

All levels of corporate leadership. They ALWAYS point fingers, make excuses for each other, accept NO responsibility, nor do they exemplify any VALUE Sonic touts (oh and no one knows what those are anyway, because leadership does not speak about them- or anything else- NO COMMUNICATION FROM LEADERS!!). There is no regard/respect for controlling costs in logical ways, so front liners bear that burden. Divisiveness abounds. Healthcare costs are ridiculous. It's as if someone gave the highest quote imaginable with the worst deductibles and OOPs to insure 1000s and we just said, where do I sign...a student could have negotiated a better package that what we have. Main departments: Quality and Regulatory: Does not exist...what? in a lab environment? Yes, you heard correct, not at the corporate level. Development: Plays the flavor of the day methodology, without embracing any one thing and sticking to it, or being good at it. Rather than having standards, exceptions are the rule. Does not deliver what is promised. It took 1.5 years to get code promised 2 years ago. After many excuses for delays, still only half baked. Production and Support: Probably the best thing about Sonic IT. Needs a better plan to get staff more knowledgeable with ALL products. Infrastructure: Getting better, but extremely overwhelmed. Also does not deliver what they promise. Lots of "i don't know" 2 year plan still not even 1/2 achieved in 4 years. Recurring theme, no accountability, cover for each other...no one will ever know. HR: Hopefully getting there, but have a LONG way to go. No tools for managing and developing staff. Again, benefits are horrendous. Nothing to hold managers accountable to. Finance and Accounting: Still a long way to go...LOTS of mistakes and carelessness. Financial loss coverups across clients Sales: Not too bad either, but as any sales area, sometimes promises vaporware and puts the teams in tougher positions than they already are. This also goes to Australians who talk to US clients and make them promises..the business models are different despite what you may think. Something that works in AU does not mean it will work in US, nor should it. We are not as dumb as you think.
