Pros

My paychecks didn't bounce. Healthcare was okay. 401k was okay. Coworkers made the stupidest bearable, sometimes.

Cons

The best and the brightest do not work at Sonicwall. Speak up and disagree that things don't work? You will be fired. It doesn't matter if you are a top technical talent or not. You will be out. Small layoffs continue so they don't have to report anything. People are terrified for their jobs. Why are glassdoor ratings so high? They literally paid people a year ago to leave reviews. Obviously those reviews wouldn't be negative because you had to prove you posted to get your cash. Don't believe me? Go through the reviews and notice a huge spike of positive reviews all at the same time. It is really sad to see Sonicwall head the direction it has. It had so much potential, but all they care about is money/PE. They don't want to fix the problems in products, see NSM. It used to be a good place to work. Even with the previous CEO it was a lot better even though he was extremely vulgar. At least you knew where you stood. The new CEO is the complete opposite. He will lie to your face and then just throw you out of the company. It happened time and time again.

Pros

When Dell bought SonicWall (2012) from Thoma Bravo most employees enjoyed the working environment. Pay (above average), PTO (above average) and products (the best cybersecurity). Working at SW was good and everyone enjoyed working for it the management.

Cons

Since the sale of Dell SonicWALL (2016) to Francisco Partners and Elliott Management, the entire management team starting with Bill Connor has lost its mojo. SonicWALL is no longer a fun environment to work at, and every chance management can take financial advantage of its employees, it does.

Pros

- 401k was competitive than others - Lots of work, so you get to learn so much in a short period of time.

Cons

- Less pay (They expect their engineers to stick with them with the low salary they pay), more over yearly bonus is peanuts. - No advancement in your career, you are stuck taking 9-10 calls a day and if you dont the management is behind you to attend calls - No queue management, less headcount. - Terrible firmware releases - This is a call center, all the management cares is for you to take calls and no one cares about giving you time to research on issues. - No proper training to the new product/feature releases, so engineers look like idiots when they try to troubleshoot the issue. - The management always tries to micromanage the engineers and no freedom for the engineers. - The new office in Tempe is the worst. - Headcount is always less, so the queue is always high. - Management doesnt have proper rules to go by and they keep bending their rules to the customers making the engineers look like fools.
