Patients truly are at the center of decisions and physicians are represented in all levels of leadership with a fantastic leadership development program with plenty of opportunities

Cons

Sound is dependent on hospital administrative teams to make decisions that help support patient care and physician development. Sometimes even though Sound wants to do the right thing, local hospital leadership still can create obstacles

Pros

I have learned a tremendous amount with Sound in the past year about the business of medicine. Our hospital has improved all metrics since they began managing us, and the quality of our care improved as well. They have a pathway to partnership, and many opportunities to participate in leadership building seminars (Crucial Conversations, Emerging Leaders, etc.). Their platform allows tracking of all those "numbers" doctors want, you know, the ones that make administrators get a glazed look? Those are readily accessible and transparent. Even the CEO is personable, down-to-earth and friendly, and responds personally to my emails. His vision for the company is catching.

Cons

The only cons to my job involve the constraints with the contract Sound has with my hospital. Staffing is based on daily 7am census rather than encounters seen, and that is a challenge when staffing up.

Company has doubled in size since I joined the company last November. Visionary leadership, workplace balance and flexibility for all employees who seem to return the trust by giving more than 100% effort to cope with the pressure that comes from this kind of growth! Best new employee orientation ever with a warm welcome from the CEO and a team that quickly envelops you into the excitement of supporting a physician run company dedicated to improving the lives of the patients they serve.

Cons

Rapid growth sometimes causes minor collisions. Constant collaborative effort to let the right hand know what the left is doing and to manage the daily shifting sands. Amazing that they accomplish so much and are able to just pick themselves up and start all over again when a stumble occurs!
