Sound Transit cares about its employees and it shows in how they are treated along with the benefits. They trust their employees to do the right thing and get the good work done. It is a fast growing organization with many opportunities for career growth.
Cons
The pay is not top of market. Like many orgs, they are having challenges filling open positions, putting pressure on the existing workers. Because it's a government agency that partners with *many* organizations (such as King County Metro/Rail), things can take a long time to get accomplished.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We really do care about our employees - thank you for noting that. As for salaries, we set them at the mid-point of the market, so some companies offer higher salaries than we do, while others are lower. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and retirement plan. Please feel free to reach out to our HR team at any time with additional feedback!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, and for your 6+ years of service to ST! Our mission and advancement opportunities are big priorities, so we appreciate the mention. If you ever have more feedback for our HR team, we'd love to hear it! Please feel free to reach out any time.
Great pay and benefits, mission and connecting the Puget Sound with transit is fun. Most people who work here are great, easy to work with and committed to the organization.
Cons
Lots of conversations about psychological safety and a focus on ST values, but that can backfire if your manager doesn't understand what that means.
The agency has gone through a lot of changes in the last few years, many re-orgs and people shifting around. I didn't get onboarded to my new dept appropriately and it's caused a lot of stress about role clarity. Managers in my dept have bragged about how they need to work 60 + hours.
