Horrible work environment. Leadership (Deans to VPs to the chancellor) are greedy, unrealistic, and only interested in adding to the South College brand. Health programs in particular are sad. They accept students who are not prepared for degree health positions. Many students will go to South because they have no other option - then pay a ridiculous amount of money to have a 50/50 or less chance of being successful. There is an abuse of power from admissions to how faculty members are treated. Workload is unrealistic and will never be enough. Additionally please hope that you never have to deal with Human Resources. They are a nightmare. There is no policy in place for faculty to take off time expect on breaks and even on breaks you are to be available. This means calling in while you’re on a cruise for a meeting scheduled in the middle of break. And you better hope you or a family member isn’t sick or dying- no pay for you!! There is no work life balance -most people in do not last more than a year in any position. All campuses are run by a South family member or friend. That says everything.
