Can be difficult to be promoted; few senior level positions and many employees stay 'parked' in their management role until retirement; good if you are building your resume and want this as a stepping stone and then move on in a few years; don't always use the best approaches/software...still use Lotus based email, rather than Microsoft Outlook.

The pay is low and there are no opportunities for merit raises. No matter how well you do your job you're going to get the same review rating as people who barely do anything because the company doesn't want to pay people what they're worth. Management above the store level is more interested in their own ideas than with what is actually going on in the store.
