Pros

Nice people, fun environment, non toxic

Cons

Can't chat during slow times, customer is ALWAYS right(I got written up for telling a customer we didn't have a product, despite them saying that we did!), unbearable uniforms, constant issues with schedules(Scheduled outside availability hours, too many hours), can't call in sick, if you're old enough to stay late they will, long hours, practically minimum wage

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your fellow team members and the work environment. We have a pretty great group of people here :). When it comes to customer service, at Metcalfe's the customer may not always be right, but the customer is always the customer and deserves to be treated with respect. We would never write someone up simply for saying we're currently out of a product, but I invite you to connect with us to elaborate on your concerns and suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Please connect with me directly at Amanda.m@shopmetcalfes.com or our HR Support Line 563-578-2503

Corporate not concerned with Retail anymore

Pros

The store level teams are generally great to work with, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Cons

Corporate only seems to care about their Govt. contracts and distribution facilities. Retail stores are regularly getting hours cut to the point that the few full time employees are facing losing hours.
