Pros

If you have no other option, it's a job.

Cons

Long Unpredictable Hours and Locations Constantly changing infrastructure and policy - people can go months without knowing who their supervisor is or will be. Regional leadership is poorly trained - not knowledgeable about service lines, region, or customer needs Deteriorating clinical infrastructure and support - additional burden on clinicians Decreasing benefits - unpaid mileage, unpaid overtime, increasingly expensive health insurance, loss of unused vacation days, but nearly impossible to get vacations approved unless a year or more in advance. Poor raises, limited to no advancement opportunity Unsustainable business model - attempting to gain contracts at any cost, while neglecting to hire / keep clinicians to fill them.

Pros

If you want O.R. experience, This is a good start. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Cons

I do 35+ hours of on call hours per week. They call this On Call Track. You do NOT get paid for it. You have to be available for it. You cannot have a part time job because you are always on call. There is absolutely no compensation for it. Your pay stub, on call hours does not show on it. A good way to cover it. You used to get paid for mileage. I cover 6 hospitals ranging from 20 miles one way to 80 miles one way. Medical benefits are fair and expensive. 401 benefits are a joke. They have created a monopoly on the industry. I went from Clinical I to Clinical II to Team Leader and then Clinical Supervisor, now back to Clinical Tech. They illegally cut pay by changing your title. Bonuses are cut, but management get theirs. I have been there 6 years and this is my last year. They play favoritism and this is absolutely a big boys club. They promise a lot, spin your tail and deliver nothing. They throw $300 thousand dollars elaborate parties, big rah-rah for their own. Equipment are old and contaminated yes really bad shape with dried blood, paint falling of. This is what is used on patience. We cover their assess yet we are the ones that gets blamed for the crap the send to use on patience.

Pros

The high level of autonomy was good for me. Also, the middle management puts in a lot of effort and want's their teams to be successful.

Cons

There isn't as much opportunity to move up as was stated when I began the job. In addition, senior management play favoritism based on personal reasons as opposed to merit.
