Pros

Flexible schedules Friendly people There's really not much to say. I liked this company before I worked there. I like my coworkers, they're good people. I even like most of the regular customers. With a few changes it COULD be a very good place to work.

Cons

Low pay No breaks/lunches VERY unrealistic expectations As I said above, I liked Speedway until I worked for them. The company gives the bare minimum the law allows as far as breaks, lunches, and shift lengths (which in my area means no breaks, no lunches, and shifts of up to 12 hours), they start at minimum wage even for stores that do over $40k in business per day. Third shift in an extremely busy neighborhood is a single person, even on the busiest day of the week when nothing gets done in the store. First and Second shift are only better by measure of having more people on hand, but they're also busier. Turnover is high, due to low pay and not enough people or time to do the required work. Overtime is all but forbidden, yet is required to actually keep the store presentable. Often times items are discontinued one month just to be brought back a month later, stores are required to follow very strict guidelines about how much food to put out during the day and at what time, even if the food doesn't sell well at the mandated time but would sell well at another time when it's not allowed. And to top it all off, management has sent out communications to all employees about how the previous year was a record-breaking year for the company, all while payroll hour limits were at the lowest anyone in the company had ever seen.

Pros

The insurance that is offered is good and when there was a flu pandemic, preventative medication was distributed, free of charge, to all employees and their families.

Cons

They work you like a dog. No breaks, no praise, no communication, just do it. Theh have monthly sales contests that are completely unfair to any one who is not management. The CSR's do all the work and managment and above win the prizes. (ie, cash, TV's, etc.)
