Pros

Having not to be there physically on weekends most of the time. Financially sound, stable company for job security. Capital for growth.

Cons

As a strong capitalist a company must be profitable, that is a given. You will be worked extremely hard. Unless you have a manager that will give you 5 minutes two or three times a day in a mandatory 10 hour shift there are no breaks or lunch time. This is company policy and is only trumped by state laws. You dread seeing a customer approach you for service because your too busy trying to complete company mandated tasks in a small time frame. Reaching 100% of your bonus is very seldom accomplished. You will definitely be required to pick up the slack that is left by a not so motivated minumum wage employee(s) if you value your job. I have heard and seen many tenured managers, some in tears complain to senior managment for some additonal hours only to fall on deaf ears. A salaried manager can expect to work no less than 11 to 15 hours a day and 24/7 on call.

Pros

Benefits are solid..SM get weekends off but still deal with idiotic issued on time off

Cons

This place is awful. SM position is a nightmare, the hours worked are not worth pay. Employees are miserable. This place is so bad, no breaks and mgt typically works 50+ hrs\wk. If customers knew how truly awful Speedway treated their employees, business would decline. Terrible upper mgt who are clueless what goes on in stores. Last place employment option..

Pros

The atmosphere is nice, customers are friendly depending on location. It is a fun environment to work in if you make it that way.

Cons

Management doesn't care about employees. At my specific store there was a lot of animosity between workers and the store manager and no one did anything about it. I personally scheduled a meeting with the district manager and he never showed up nor called to reschedule so the problems continued. After I put in my two weeks notice he informed the store manager to make that day my last day. After all my hard work. Had the management not been a problem I would've loved to stay at Speedway, at least until I graduated from college.
