Pros

Weekly pay checks, insurance, 401k, that's about it

Cons

Where to start ... if you don't have a life this is the job for you! They want you to run the store like you own it yet pay you squat and make it impossible to earn the bonuses. Your salary is based on 50 hours and most likely will work 60-70 if you want the store to run smoothly. You stand 10+ hours a day with no breaks. You are constantly dealing with complaints from customers, managing employees who don't want to do anything, dealing with druggies who make a mess of your bathrooms. You get no support what so ever!! Think twice before falling into the trap of being hired by this AWFUL company! They will work you like dog until you can't take it any more and walk out!

Pros

There are benefits. The environment is usually friendly. Everyone is (usually) a team player You can move up in the company, a lot. My friend was a sales associate and became co-manager. You get to meet who you are working for. Managers and higher-ups are on call 24/7 if you need help. They have a hotline for questions.

Cons

Only raises are for the length you been there (ex: 6 months = $00.25) There are no discounts. You cannot take tips. You have to force Speedy Reward cards on everyone (and if you don't meet your fifty percentage, you get a write-up...three and you're fired). Same thing with selling points, you have to push them and can get written up if you do not get your percentage.

Pros

Flexible hours, get bonuses for selling candy, good, patient, and helpful GMs.

Cons

Policy for selling alcohol will cost you your job! They teach you that you don't have to Id if the customer looks over 40. The sheriff's dept is hip to this and will send in someone that looks close to 40 then you get a charge for selling alcohol to a minor along with court costs, and community service. To add to all this Speedway will fire you and you will not be rehireable! Way to throw your employees under the bus! Also the food waste at these stores is mind blowing!
