Pros

Pay management wise. CSR wages are bogus!!

Cons

Ask too much of lower management (Cos and SLs) for what they are paid. Not enough hours given to the stores for them to even been run efficiently. Upper managment does not care. You could be the only one there and have to work 24 hrs because they say so.... just don't do it. CSRs aren't paid enough for what they do.

Pros

Speedway offers quite a few training classes for advancement and you get paid for your fuel to, and time spent, at each class. They have a pretty fair tattoo and piercing policy which is definitely nice for more progressive thinking people.

Cons

I didn't make nearly enough money for the obscene amount of hours I spent either at the store or being called by employees for help. The company also gives way too many chances to employees that don't do their jobs while also not rewarding the ones that bust their rump to make the store a success.

Pros

Holiday pay is 2.5x/hr for management, health and dental are outstanding, 401k is matched to 6%,some paid holidays off, and a monthly bonus based off of margin.

Cons

No meal breaks (not allowed to eat behind counter) single coverage during busy time, forced to eat meals in back room with cleaning chemicals and rotten product. Stores being understaffed is a constant. Not enough people wanting/needing Speedy Rewards cards? That's a write up/termination. Don't expect to be promoted, even though company brags about how they hire from within. Spot a shoplifter, guess what, you're not allowed to call PD. Have someone smoking inside the store or at the pump, guess what you're not allowed to ask them to stop. Rude customer?? Better roll over on your back and give them free stuff. This company is flawed, the Hess acquisition was supposed to fix many issues and be the greatest thing in the world. At least Hess treated employees with dignity.
