Pros

The only pro I can think of is they pay weekly....

Cons

This company is absolutely the worst company to work for. They are under staffed. They start you off at 8.50 an hour when everyone else in the area pays 9-10 an hour. They base you ENTIRE job performance on you ability to persuade customers to sign up for "Speedy rewards" and convince them to buy featured candy for the month. If I wanted a job in sales I would have found a telemarketing job. Oh yeh and working with old lady's that don't want to work and expect the younger employees to carry the weight of the store

Pros

Good benefit package at a time where companies are cutting benefits. But good benefits are not worth working for a company that gives only lip service to the idea of people being the most important part of their company.

Cons

Slow professional growth unless you are relocatable, work 60 plus hours per week, and always agree with upper management. Culture is metric driven, and preaches the value of people. Many of the metrics are not achievable, and employees are treated as expendable. Upper management have never worked at other companies, are not open to new ideas or open discussion, and in many cases are emotionally immature. At upper levels, employees are encouraged to join political action committees, and if they do not, they do not advance. The corporate environment at best offers a place to be from 8-5, at worst employees are micromanaged, and treated disrespectfully. If you are passionate, and like to impact an organization, look for a different corporate environment. At the store level, managers work 55-70 hours to attempt to meet company standards. They are evaluated quarterly on metrics that for most, they have no direct way to impact. If they do not achieve, they are put on 90 day "action plans" that have 30 days of actual metric impact, and then almost always termed or demoted. Hourly employees turnover quickly, are paid minimum wage, and expected to work without an unpaid break. Stores are not given enough hours, managers frequently cover shifts, and the company regurly shifts goals and direction.

Pros

Fun times with customers....fast pace time flies by... Not really many pros to talk about. Why do I have to write 20 words ?

Cons

They don't expect you to have a life others than speedway. Regional management is always putting down store staff and loses focus on what's best for employees and customers. Not fun anymore. They keep you understaffed at all times. They have unrealistic goals and the bonus program used to be really good. In comparison, this year I will make 20k less due to changes in bonus program. If you like working 60-70 hours a week on salary then this is the job for you. No opportunities to advance from store level.
