Pros

The only good parts about Speedway are weekly pay checks and occasionally the people you work with.

Cons

I experienced constant racism from both customers and upper management. Had my life threatened multiple times with customers either trying to Rob or rape me. Being forced to come in sick even on the days where all I would pass is blood.

Horrible trap to work in.

Pros

You learn a lot about dealing with people.

Cons

Very low pay even at Shift Lead position. I am currently paid 12.75 at Speedway. I have been with the company for over two years. I receive vacation time, but normally the only way to take it is by swapping shifts. Lets say I want to spend my vacation time on Friday. I would then be scheduled on what would normally be my day off, Sunday. Working at Speedway is like building a sand castle next to the ocean. Each day you build it up, and when you leave a big wave comes and knocks it down. Each day is painfully repetitive, and very few customers seem to respect you. This is natural. The bathrooms are horrible at all times. There are no employee only bathrooms. The building I work in has aged horrifically, and corporate very rarely fixes anything at all. I work in a sinking ship and it is feels like a trap. I would never be interested in becoming a manager at Speedway. Work upwards of 60 hours a week but you are maxed out by salary. If you want to retire at Speedway they will work you to the bone and you'll be a dead man when they're done with you. Our store has been "short staffed" since I got the job. 24 hours ran by 10 people. Unreliable coworkers are never fired, simply because nobody is applying for the job. Half of the job is aiding your helpless coworkers. I do not recommend this job to anybody. I want to quit but we are really short staffed and they would be really really screwed without me. Hopefully we can get some good people in here and I can get the heck out.

Pros

Do not work here unless you have no experience and need something immediately

Cons

You will be fired if you are not selling at the rates they want. Upper management will ALWAYS find something wrong in the store and you will always be blamed for why the store is failing. They will hold you at your low position and not let you progress through the company unless you are on the District Managers good side.
