Pros
Double time pay on six federal holidays.
Cons
Every. Single. Other. Part. They will tell you they promote from within but they will always hire people from outside. I was passed over for promotion five times in a year, four of the five times the position was filled by external hires. After being there for four years, I was still entry-level part time. I was the only multi-year employee who was part time at my store. Manager purposely kept me part-time because I lived nearby and she could call me when others called off. Pay raises were terrible. Never called off and was never late, busted my hump daily and only got ten cents a year, despite outstanding reviews. Told I had a bad attitude when I started to slack off after being passed over five times. I finally got promoted when they found out I took a second job. Unrealistic sales goals, stores are always understaffed and basically no one can pass monthly inspections. Who moves up is purely based on who brown-noses best. Most managers are incompetent or are total suck-ups. Had five managers in my four years, only one was actually good at her job. You are nothing more than a slave to them, they just try to squeeze every penny out of you they can. DM even tried to implement a "No Outside Food" policy for employees. Employees have to pay full price for all items. Basically tried to force us to give our money back to the company. There is no reason to work here. You're better off at Wal-Mart, or a sweat shop.
