Pros

Overall Splice has good benefits, decent compensation packages, and they genuinely have employees who care about creators. I have the opportunity to WFH which is great and hope that a virtual workplace becomes something permanent at Splice.

Cons

Leadership needs to slow down. Too many things get thrown at teams last minute and it isn't fair for those involved in executing. I understand that we are working for a start up and things move quick but moving quick causes burnout. People will leave if they feel like they constantly can't catch a break.

Great Company to Work for

Pros

It's during the challenging times that a company and its leadership shows its true colors, and it couldn't be any better for Splice. With the onset of coronavirus, the company felt to be leading the charge with its response. From work from home pilots before the city lockdown, employee stipends for office equipment, to mental health days where the entire company is on time off for the day so people can focus on themselves and their families, this company really shined through with its values. We've been very fortunate that our business hasn't been impacted negatively by coronavirus at all. Coronavirus aside, Splice is a place that's teeming with talent (both professionally and musically). You can tell that people truly care about the artists that we support and use our platform. Culture is quite chill and informal. It's a startup so it's continuing its journey of figuring out how to improve its processes. You definitely end up doing more than your "job description" but I think that's pretty much expected at a startup. There can be longer hours when there's a lot going on, but leadership stresses the importance of worklife balance which is really great. I'm looking forward to where Splice goes for the future, hopefully it'll continue this trajectory in a post-coronavirus world.

Cons

Sometimes can be longer hours. Figuring out how to be more process-oriented. Not much else I can think of at the moment.

Pros

In the time I've been here, I've seen a company that takes employee feedback seriously and has turned words into positive actions. I'm one of several female leaders, who, along with my partners are being deliberate about the moves we make so we leave the bro culture WAAY in the past and move us into positive spaces, and I've seen tons of progress in the short time here. I like that I'm heard and I feel like there is an amazing openness to feedback. I'm also just really into the relationship between product management, engineering and design. I've worked in places in the past that pay lip service to cross functional work but fail in practice, my experience at Splice has been really different in that we really do work as partners. There's a lot of mutual respect and that, I feel, helps. We also just make really great products... I feel like of all the tech startups in the world, we can honestly say we do no harm and in fact help artist progress... that feels really good.

Cons

No place is without it's faults, I would love to see us be more forward thinking. I think we could take bigger bets; let's get uncomfortable!, prioritize quality (i'm a designer after all) and keep improving our communication; there can never be enough.
