Fine Enough

Pros

The people on the floor of this company are fine enough to work with, particularly among LCs and Carrier Sales.

Cons

There seems to be a lot of undue pressure on anyone in a sales position to always be available, which in turn makes their relationships with the logistics department strained at best. It seems like something that could be solved with a little restructuring or shuffling around of responsibility. There seems to be an almost comical turnover rate at this company. The trainer made some quip about constantly hiring people, which seems like a weird way to advertise that employees don't stick around long.

Pros

Most of the people are nice. Office is nice and parking is in a good location. Casual Dress Code If you smoke, drink, and are a WASP (or Catholic, the only thing important here is WAS) then you will fit in just fine.

Cons

Micromanagement - no matter which role you're in your manager will hover Unprofessional - employees and managers alike will yell and cuss at each other Office Politics - see WASP comment Horrible Benefits - week vacation, always increasing insurance costs Low Pay - never hit commission then constantly get blamed for not working at 2am on a Saturday Low Morale - behind the glossy marketing and PR is ridiculously low morale everyone feels bad for new hires knowing that they will be gone in less than 60 days

Pros

Coworkers are smart and talented

Cons

Although the people you work with know what they are doing, your sector of the company is run by a person with no software development experience. Despite not understanding the needs of the app or anything about the development process, they are the one who decides what tasks are prioritized and how long those tasks should take to complete. It causes an absolutely chaotic work structure where you are yanked from ticket to ticket as you are pressured and rushed constantly to add new features without even considering the app's stabilization. Things to expect from leadership: - asks for major changes and overhauls to the app's design and flow while having unrealistic expectations of when it should be complete - will message you, demanding updates no matter what time of day or night (as late as 10:30 pm) and expect a response - will publicly BERATE you and your work - will be continuously unsatisfied with your output no matter how many extra hours you give to this job before/after work, or how many lunches you work through (there will be many) - will not admit when wrong or at fault All of these reasons and more are why you should not join this company. But this has happened because there is a toxic culture in this company that allows them to treat people this way. I made complaints to my direct supervisor, who told me to ignore all of these things. I then took these complaints to their supervisor and the next supervisor above them, and the solutions they gave avoided the problem rather than addressing it. So essentially, this higher-up can commit any trespass against you and get away with it, because they are surrounded by people who will not (or cannot) tell them no. And going to anyone higher up for support on this issue is absolutely pointless, as they will either try to tell you it's not a big deal, or work around the issue instead of addressing it directly. I have so much more that I can say that I experienced in the time that I held this position. But by now it should be clear to you that this place is not willing to treat you with respect, and you should stay away unless you are absolutely desperate for work. The world would be a better place if consequences existed for people in power that behaved like this. Do us ALL a favor and turn back.
