Pros

Free snacks I guess? Commuter Benefits Basic insurance

Cons

False promises, under delivers and terrible management. Operational processes needs massive assistant and revamp. The product itself needs massive assistant. The executives have no clue about how to run a business. Can’t even figure out their mission as a company. No transparency, ask anyone working there about how the company performances are and more than likely they won’t even know. They are building a sales engine by just trying to get anyone they can to just sell the product or processing. No one is properly trained and the whole process from sales to post sales is just a disaster. There are new hires roughly every month and people leave just as quickly. The rating on glassdoor poorly reflects on how it really is on this company... Way below average pay for where they are located(SF). No option to negotiate either. There’s a valid reason why people don’t stay for more than 6 months. There is no growth perspective in this company, rallies itself as a startup with bunch of opportunities but holds no values close to it. Feels very old fashioned and corporate with outdated policies but wants to keep priding themselves as a hip young startup. You’ll be micro-managed and everyone just pretends that they are happy until you really talk to them. Only like 10% of the company actually knows the product well enough to support it. People working here would absolutely jump ship to another opportunity when given the chance. Sales is ran by arrogant, obnoxious, and immature individuals. Overhearing about how they sell the company is cringe worthy and despicable. They have an entire recruitment team dedicated to just recruit sales agents and they all just have a quota to hit so it's quantity over quality for them. This in returns gets sales reps who have no idea what they are selling. Support is using outdated technology to support hundreds of incoming inquiries, more than half of them are under trained and can’t fully support the needs of the clients. They have built an internal CRM tool but its mediocre at best. Those engineers could easily be put to better use because the tool can just be replaced by a third party system that would do the job much better. Do you research before consider working here.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Please know that we read each and every one of these, and are always seeking ways to improve the overall direction of the company as well as implementing a lot of the feedback in effort to support an environment where we can set our employees up for success--that includes onboarding and training. We appreciate you taking the time to compose your thoughts regarding your experience. It sounds like from the host of issues you had with the company that ultimately we were not a good fit for you. We have had several positive reviews, and pride ourselves on creating an environment where employees can attain their professional goals. As this is a sales-driven company (as you know), we have aggressive growth goals that we're actively putting into place. We wish you the best in your endeavors; thanks again for providing your feedback.

Pros

They pay taxes to the U.S., California and the City of San Rafael. I think....

Cons

Technology doesn't work. Three to four years behind a dead trend. Management yells, screams, belittles, makes homophobic remarks and generally runs the place like boiler room. "Support staff" is made up of all young women, and are simply eye candy for management and the rest of the men there. Very incompetent.

We are sad that you have such a negative impression of us. We believe our technology is incredibly sophisticated and our support team is dedicated and hard working. However, we do take your feedback very seriously. I'd love to discuss your experience with us.

Pros

This company is so miserable to work for that you will make long term friends that share mutual PTSD for years to come. A soul level trauma bond with your coworkers will create many long term friendships and inside jokes to help you cope with the time/energy you wasted here. You will love working here if you have low self esteem, enjoy financial struggle, and have been seeking a surefire way to grind away all your dignity, self-worth, and confidence. If you’re been looking for a way to become a burnt out, empty husk of your former self, this is the place for you. They won’t pay you a livable wage, but you’ll have massive fun destroying all of the swag they’ve sent you with a hammer and scissors once you finally escape this joyless pit of existential dread.

Cons

Leadership = Gary V knockoff from Wish. Be prepared to do the work of 2-3 people in exchange for a change in title only. Absolutely no job security- this company does layoffs so freely that it feels like working with a weapon pressed against your temple at all times. HR department with the power and backbone of a plastic house plant. SpotOn is straight up an abusive culture that gaslights and overworks employees until they lay them off or leave on their own accord. Self advocacy or raising concerns are a surefire way to get on the next layoff list. You are disposable in this org. Expect to be replaced with whoever or whatever is the cheapest option within 1-3 years of being hired. You will be promised promotions. You will be promised large raises. You will never, ever get them.

There is a lot to unpack here, and some of it is patently false. But setting that aside, I'm genuinely sorry you had such a terrible experience. This is never, ever the experience we want someone to have with SpotOn. If you're willing, I would truly appreciate 5 minutes of your time to understand more about your specific experience and if/how your concerns were escalated prior to your departure. I care deeply about making this a place where our team can grow and win together, and I'm truly sorry that you didn't feel that during your time with us. Please shoot me an email and let's talk rhorsley@spoton.com. - RJ
