Pros

To me, working at Springboard, in a nutshell, means: collaborating and growing alongside a competent, respectful, and values-aligned team. I joined when the team was 1/3 its current size. It’s been an intense and super rewarding journey, with lots of highlights: a team offsite abroad (and another one in a few weeks), "remote work weeks," a move out of WeWork to our very own office, a Series A raise, several new course launches, our first-ever user conference, celebrating Halloween and Friendsgiving, getting to speak live with the students and mentors who dial in to our all-hands meetings... What I love most about working here is: (1) I see our core company values in action on a daily basis: people care about our mission, about humanness and relationships, about their own learning and professional development, and about striving for excellence and taking ownership. (2) It’s not just the “highlights” above that I appreciate, but also the loud laughter at our team lunches, the hugs when someone gets back from vacation, the ridiculous Slack emojifests... Time flies when you’re having fun, they say! :-) One other point of pride and happiness for me is seeing so many women in key positions on the team. Not every company can boast that, even outside of tech.

Cons

We’re an ambitious team that’s out to do good in the world *and* win in the marketplace... Plus, there are always more ideas than there is time... And the devil’s in the details. So net net, we have a high need for hustle and grit, which can sometimes mean a long workday (including calls with the other office in off-hours). Classic #startuplyfe! It helps to remind myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint, and to make sure to take downtime with family, friends, and activities when I need to get away from my computer (whether that's a couple of hours, or a few days, at a time)!

Pros

* Not 'yet another ed-tech start-up'. People here really care about the students and creating a product that makes a difference in their lives. * Lots of freedom to take ownership and try out your ideas. Fast paced and willing to experiment, yet sensible and balanced * Fun!!! Really great, genuinely nice people that you like hanging out with. * Flexibility. Getting your work done is more important than where you get it done from

Cons

* Growing pains-big mission, big dreams, growing rapidly - figuring out what internal structures will support our growth * Constantly running out of meeting rooms! Alas, we had to encroach the sacred library space last time

Totally agree with you — such a great group of people and, yes, some growth-related challenges (... a good problem to have! :-)) We are actively exploring space solutions for 2019! Thanks for your comments and for helping the whole Springboard community of students, mentors, and team achieve our mission of bridging the world's skills gap. - Springboard People Team

Cons

-> Still a startup, so the work-life balance should be something you need to consider. -> Traffic in Bangalore

Thanks so much for these notes! We're so glad to hear that Springboard’s efforts to build an awesome team, workplace, tech stack, and product are valued by our teammates. (P.S. Yes, we, too, would love to fix the traffic problems… in both Bangalore and San Francisco!) - Springboard People team
