Pros

401K match up to 3%, company vehicle with gas card, if you want. They appear like they truly care, about patient's and staff so far..They are corporate, so they have set protocols

Cons

Corporate so you HR, Payroll, triage on call RN, are states away, so they have no idea about patient's. You can't just walk in a office to ask quick question. They have no idea who you are. feels like you lose some of flexibility to do special things for your patient.

Pros

This work offers the amazing opportunity to be with pts and families thru really difficult vulnerable times. The best part of the job is the wonderful patients... And, you will have too many to truly be present for your patients.

Cons

The company itself. The There is NO work-life balance. As far as I could tell from comparison with colleagues, St. Croix Hospice has the highest SW caseloads of any Hospice in the Metro. You cannot get the work done in a workday. A typical day is 730am to 6pm and more documentation later in the night or you will have late documentation in the morning. The culture is too competitive... each person trying to one-up each other with hours worked. Management is cold and punitive and all nurses and business representatives. Ownership is tone-deaf. It is a For-PROFIT healthcare company that really feels like a For-Profit Healthcare company. The healthcare offered has a high deductable. The pay is low. The caseloads are high. There is no SW representation with the management structure. Rules are rigid. Time-off is not respected.

Pros

Nice location- just of highway 94

Cons

Hard to fit in as a new employee. People stick to their own areas and don’t open up to new people very well. Segregated departments. Company operates in old school mindset. Archaic systems and programs.
