Pros

I have met some really great people and life-long friends here.

Cons

Most people who have been at Stamps for a long time are complacent. It is sad because they are smart and if under the right leader could thrive. Instead it is easy to get comfortable at Stamps, but you end up feeling stuck after a while because it is easy. I don’t think it is a challenging place if you want to grow in your career. I know a lot of people are looking elsewhere (secretly) and planning their exit. Some of the leaders are horrible and lack real life people management skills. I know some fell into their positions by default or they were just there the longest. I attribute this to top leadership choices. Don’t get me wrong. Some of these people are great people but they are horrible leaders and should not be managing people when they themselves have not been developed. I have met so many smart people at stamps but they are not able to fulfill their potential because of their leaders. This to me is really sad. My boss frustrates me so much I am not sure how I have made it this far. So many people tell me they are just comfortable but not really happy there. I can only guess their outside personal obligations or family situations do not allow them to pursue other options which I understand. It’s just so sad. Although the kitchen has some fruits and vegetables, it’s mostly stocked with snacks that are just horrible for your health. If you want to encourage healthy living, why do you even supply your staff with top ramen, soda, monster drinks, processed foods, etc. I’ve seen people eating that combo for lunch. No wonder people gain weight at Stamps. People joke about gaining the stamps weight and we all make our own decisions but don’t encourage it by supplying it. I’ve heard that it is a way to keep people working there. So it keeps people coming back for more and if you have low self esteem you are more likely to stay. When I heard this from someone who has been at the company for years and who I value, I thought how sad. There’s lots of eating events but it’s mostly unhealthy foods. Even last year we had a health fair and a lot of us thought it was ironic since our kitchen is full of fattening foods. Then when they post on Instagram they only post the veggies to give the impression we are health conscious like our shelf of ramen, chips, crepes, etc doesn’t exist. Oh also our endless sugar filled sodas and drinks. Encourage health 100% in our kitchen foods that give us energy and provide focus during the workday, not foods that give you a short sugar rush and then make you tired at your desk.

Depending on Position, employment okay

Pros

They want you to enjoy coming to work, even if your job is to be yelled at by customers. They provide snacks, drinks and will often have company-sponsored meals, parties and mixers.

Cons

If you're on the "CS" team, be prepared to be constantly berated and yelled at by customers, because as part of the "escalation" team, it's your job to be composed while someone is telling you that you've stolen from them. Also, they seem to tout that if you start at the bottom that you'll be able to move up the ladder, but that is not common. It seems to often be based on a popularity contest, despite qualifications, and they like to reward brown-nosers.
