I knew a lot about the stationary dept and was able to help customers. The store was always clean and easy to work in.

Cons

Horrible management! The guys in the electronics dept got away with murder. They were lazy and never had to pull their weight.

Pros

It was my first job and taught me a lot in how to deal with people, both coworkers and customers, in a work setting. Not that management actually teaches you anything about it. It was self learning that made the experience at least okay.

Cons

They provide just enough training so you can do your basic function but don't expect to grow at the position you are hired unless you are ready to kiss ass. Management only cares about you doing your shift, never you as a person. Not a single manager ask me how I was doing after I called in to say I have to go to the emergency room for an emergency surgery. The only manager that asked, wanted to see my scar so I can prove my story true.

Flexible schedules, simple business plans and strategy, easy to be successful, decent compensation for amount of work required

Cons

Company always finding new ways to"reinvent" itself, or better put, nickle and dime the employees to death. Terrible HR support and mediocre benefits. Constant changes also seem to result in frequent lay-offs in recent history.
