      Pros

      Staples offers potential applicants friendly associates and management, flexibility with scheduling, decent wages with decent benefits ( as long as you enjoy overpaying for them), a clean and bright work environment, an excellent chance for advancement inside the company, excellent morale boosts with monthly associate of the month awards, safety bingo, and store wide events.

      Cons

      The drawbacks to working at Staples are pain in rear end customers who expect associates to know everything about each item in the store. The fact that there is no employee discount only 15% back on purchases. lackluster communication between sales associates and senior staff.

      Pros

      Staples is a generally non- stressful job where as long as you make an effort no one will question your competence or work ethic. Management pushes you to sell products and warranties, but if you do well- they notice and praise you. If you are good at your job, you will feel valued. Promotion from within is also relatively easy. You can become a department head within a few months if you are good. After a year you can become an Assistant Manager and based on your performance eventually becoming a general (store) manager isn't hard either.

      Cons

      Pay is mediocre compared to other large retailers. Raises are not large.
