Pros

The Company has Good benefits and pretty decent pay. They Still have a pension but who knows for how long.

Cons

Leadership has complete unwillingness to use common sense. Upper leaders have shown zero care about the front line employees. CEO and other upper leaders are trying to disguise the awful culture they have created by blaming expense management. Leadership does not appear to care about keeping talented first line people. If not in hub area look anywhere else you can for a job before coming to State Farm.

Pros

I LOVED working claims because I enjoy helping people and feeling like I'm making a difference in people's overall experience.

Cons

The attendance policy is ridiculous. 20 point system, you get 4 points for one missed day, and there is no sick time. If you get sick you're SOL, because you'll either have to suffer through it on the floor or you'll get those 4 points. Hopefully you don't have children or that will make it even more difficult for you. They would rather keep really crappy customer service providers over people who sometimes can't make it in. Availability is the best ability, but there has to be some type of understanding.

Pros

-One of the few hourly Claim Adjuster careers in the area. -A consistent annual merit increase.

Cons

-Extreme levels of micromanagement, endless metrics and newly hired employees are too intimidated to make decisions on their own -Quality of new hires are getting worse and worse, no experience to do the job and training is too generic to help when the adjuster gets on the floor. -Bonuses and annual raises have been decreased greatly over the past three years. -Sick time and PTO plan is below industry average. -Pay rates are below industry average. -If you end up in a department that is poorly staffed you will not be able to move to better opportunities in the company. -Terrible work life balance with mandatory overtime. They are trending to be the industry average in regards to their employees and customers, instead of being industry leading. while still be the highest priced preferred policy in the market.
