Pros

Once you learn the State Farm "system" you are an asset to any Agent. Agents will pay for you to get your insurance licenses.

Cons

There is little appreciation given to team members. Most agents keep State Farm bonuses for YOUR hard work and sales. You have a lot of responsibility and are not compensated accordingly. Most offices are understaffed and you can't take time off. I don't find agents to be understanding when you have emergencies yet they come in when they please. I am very dissatisfied after 3 years and would like to work somewhere that I am appreciated.

Pros

Work from home. Bonus opportunity if you, your team, and the company meet goals. Good amount of time off.

Cons

Poor training. We were not provided with a lot of help in terms of dealing with difficult customer interactions. Health insurance was very expensive. Over $150 in premiums for a non-smoking, single person. Pension was taken away by the current CEO, Michael Tipsord, in 2020 to reduce costs for State Farm. He also reduced the PTO maximum accrual, which prevented new hires from ever earning what older employees were able to receive.
