There are several attorneys in the firm I'd never work for but they stay, tormenting their practice assistants while not having their behavior corrected by management because of the money those attorneys bring in. Management is also unbelievably bad in communicating with staff, leaving staff dangling and uninformed.

There is a huge disparity in income between attorneys and support staff. While this can be expected, it creates a divide in understanding that can get in the way of team building and collaboration. The staff have to fight for even the smallest raises and are often given more work when reaching out to management with concerns about burnout. They also don't seem to promote from within which blocks internal growth and devlopment.
