Pros

The staff and the product offered.

Cons

The upper management is disconnected. They are unaware of the day to day processes which dilutes the morale in their studios.

Anti-worker

Pros

You get to make your own schedule at most locations. Decent learning experience.

Cons

They are anti-worker. They neglect to treat flex’s like they are what they are: the point of the company. Each franchise is highly discouraged from allowing flex’s to receive commission, and when they do it is convoluted. They do not pay flex’s what they are worth, the amount of money they make off of each visit vs what you get paid is exploitative. They do not allow tipping and actively encourage clients to instead leave a positive review… meaning the company actively leverages clientele to lower the earnings potential of their workers. Flex’s are minimally trained and expected to rely heavily on faulty technology which, when viewing it from a scientific/diagnostic perspective, completely lacks validity and reliability. Employee’s do not have any formal training in diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders. The scheduling and timing of appointments encourages flex’s to spend less time than the client actually paid for. Your employment contract has a non-compete clause in it that “prohibits” you from practicing anything you learned from them, non of which is in any way proprietary (you could learn all the stretches and techniques from YouTube in an afternoon); non-compete clauses aren’t enforceable in all states but their attempt to implement such policies is blatant intimidation. It wears on your body, a lot. The tables don’t have enough padding, doing the amount of hands-on work at the expected pace leads to injuries.

Pros

Great learning experience, met great people.

Cons

Ownership will make or break your experience. My experience was less than stellar. Ownership at my locations was very heavily involved, which typically would be nice. However, they will micromanage every task you do. Down to listening to your phone calls. If it's not done EXACTLY how they would do it, it's wrong. Criticism comes in the form of a call, text AND email. It will be brought up multiple times until it's defeating and no longer constructive. Mistakes will be brought to your attention via text or email anywhere from 8pm to 10pm which is extremely inappropriate. Early on when you make a mistake they'll laugh it off and tell you that it's okay, but do it again and they will be out right disrespectful. In my years of working in the fitness/wellness industry I have never seen more people quit, be fired or cry at work. The turnover was insane. Emotional and disrespectful outbursts from ownership created a very toxic work environment and you could feel the tension at all times. Rude and condescending texts were constantly being sent. There is absolutely NO work/life balance if you work in management. You will often times work 9.5-10 hour days with no lunch break and have 1 day off a week and they consider that normal all while paying you a poverty level salary. They will consistently try and tell you that they're "chill" or believe in their staff having work/life balance but the reality is that they have no idea what that means. Everything from going to get a cup of coffee to helping a coworker with something not work related for 5 minutes will be used against you. I have never been more miserable at a job in my life. I realize this isn't everyone's experience, but everyone seemed pretty unhappy with ownership across the board. They will mislead you during the interview process so I would urge anyone thinking about working at these locations to look elsewhere.
