Managers Often Abuse Their Power

Pros

The initial pay was good. A few weeks later, I realized why they had to pay so generously: to hire decent people, as they had few left.

Cons

Transparency is essential in any workplace. It wasn't the case here. The upper management gave the managers too much power, which changed their attitude. They became too arrogant to think before they acted. They fired people on the spot without an explanation, creating an atmosphere of fear about job loss. It was the worst time of my entire career. I am grateful that I fled before they could fire me.

Pros

Joining Study.com has been an amazing experience. I am thriving in this collaborative and growth-oriented remote environment. From the start, I felt welcomed and supported by my US teammates despite the time zone differences. The work-life balance here is excellent, and I appreciate the opportunities for personal and professional growth, including direct interactions with stakeholders. The recreational activities, such as fitness games and wellness programs, add a fun and engaging element to our remote work culture. Overall, it’s a great place to work and develop your career while enjoying a balanced and flexible work environment.

Cons

The remote setup means less face-to-face interaction, which could be a downside for those who value in-person connections.

Worst Company

Pros

Free snacks and lunch Wednesday Coworkers are nice

Cons

Company treats you like you are in preschool requiring your in the office on time and 3 days a week despite others getting different treatments or working from home completely. Red tape management style that won't tell you what's actually going on. A software engineer was fired for no reason and was almost deported because of it. Lots of other shady practices as well against the content team. You will not get significant raises here. My recommendation is to stay for one year then get a higher salary elsewhere.
