Pros

This is honestly the best company I've ever worked for. Super smart, funny and nice coworkers. A culture that supports learning. Leadership that trusts its employees and provides opportunities for growth. A profitable business, without VC investors breathing down our necks. Low stress, and a sustainable work pace (thank you scrum!). Competitive compensation and luxurious perks with a gym membership, fresh raspberries and avocados everyday... what else can you ask for? :)

Cons

The only significant downside is that there are no stock options (in the traditional sense). There's a profit sharing plan, which allows *current* employees to have a share of the acquisition price if we were bought, but if you leave the company or wish to cash out early you cannot.

Thank you for your feedback - I'm glad you've enjoyed working at Study.com so much. As a member of the product team, I'm sure you know how hard it is to prioritize given that we have so many compelling ideas to pursue. Being more focused is definitely a priority for us, and hopefully you've found the changes we've made to the quarterly planning process to be more strategic. Thank you for helping us build such a great product - we've made a lot of improvements over the last few years and leadership from the product owners was a critical factor. - Ashley

Pros

-easy -little to no overtime -free lunch twice a week -most people are friendly -location convenient -the perks are good, they try to be good to employees -if you want a lax job where you don't try too hard (and don't care about your work) with reasonable perks and good pay, this place will probably be great for you -CEO is a funny guy and often mispronounces words

Cons

- look at the reviews for Remilon, which is actually this company. The only reason the ratings here are so high is because they changed names earlier this year. - their main business is selling student data to for-profit schools (University of Phoenix, etc.) - some employees are extremely difficult to work with

Study.com really values the strong GTD work ethic of its employees. We're sorry you didn't have that experience. We realize each employee perceives the work environment differently. We're proud to have such a motivated, high-achieving team that has helped us create a thriving subscription service to help students earn college credit and improve their grades. Our subscription service for our learning resources is a core part of our business model. However, another part of our business is in helping students reach colleges and universities nationwide, as you mention in your review. We have a long list of partner schools including for-profit, not-for-profit, and public universities. We're recognized in the industry for our transparency and our respect for students' confidential information.

Pros

- Working for a company that you can stand behind proudly for its efforts to make education more accessible, saving students money and time, and helping them make better decisions about their educational choices. - Company bowling league, beach day, team events, snacks, meals, beer cart Thursday, happy hour Friday, Hack-a-thons, innovation Fridays, company-wide team building events, celebration trips to Las Vegas - FUN, FUN, FUN! - Working with some of the most intelligent people that are willing to help you learn and grow (and that are fun). - Having endless opportunities to work on many different things. - Working in an environment full of collaboration, learning, fun, excitement, humor... and friendships. - A company that is financially stable and has a clear vision for strategic growth. - Highly competitive compensation plans and benefits

Cons

- Tremendous amount of growth within a small period of time can make it hard to keep the culture stable. The company seems to be doing a great job so far, but just be weary. - A ton of meetings... granted we are in a high growth time and brainstorming new ideas is critical. - Too many snacks causes lots of munching (thank goodness for the gym membership)
