Pros

There's so many: free food, great pay, free commuting on the Caltrain, great medical and dental, lots of vacation time, and all the benefits you'd expect with such a great company. All of those are great, but best yet is working for a small, successful company full of tons of passion creating a better, more educated world. Our founders are pretty cool too.

Cons

The cost of living in Mountain View is high and living further away where it's cheaper makes for a longer commute. Still, this is par for the course for the bay area.

I agree that our founders are pretty cool! It's hard to find a privately held company where the founders are so generous and accessible to every employee in the company. Our founders have an open door policy and genuinely listen to ideas and suggestions from everyone in the company. We know that Mountain View is expensive, which is why we offer a free Caltrain pass to all employees. We get the perks of a great downtown Mountain View location with free trips to work.

Pros

I was drawn to this company because it's a tech company with a great mission - make education accessible. I've stayed at here because it's so well run. The leadership team cares about the employees and goes to great lengths to make it a positive, motivating work environment. The co-founders are accessible and supportive, but also challenge people to grow and learn. The Operations Team is top notch, too. I firmly believe that they're going to continue to do great things for the employees as the company grows. I've also stayed here because the whole company is made up of a terrific group of people. Study.com has grown by leaps and bounds in the time I've been here, but they continue to find smart, fun people that make the office a great place to be. I love working with everyone here and I love hanging out with them at the many social events (happy hours, bowling league, team events, parties, beach trips, etc.).

Cons

There aren't many cons. Mountain View is expensive and you have to commute from pretty far to live somewhere affordable. They do offer free CalTrain passes and a flexible workday to make that easier.

As a member of the ops team, I'll make sure to pass your feedback on! We really appreciate the positive feedback. We're doing a lot to help the company maintain its great culture, including company events, new company benefits, and, of course, building a brand new office to support all of our exciting growth.

Pros

Amazing people, seriously can't emphasize that enough, I like everyone I work with and this is the first time that's true in my life. They allow you to pursue ideas past just having one, especially if it has ROI, they are supportive of me as both a person and an employee past anything I've seen in a company. I asked to increase my responsibility more then once and they have delivered on their promise and more. The culture is something to be envied. There's always a happy hour or some event to hang out with your coworkers. The free food in the kitchen never hurts either!

Cons

We have too many ideas, sometimes we don't execute them as well as we could.

I'm so glad that you have opportunities to grow and gain responsibility. We're always looking for ways for employees to grow and develop in their profession. If you have any ideas for how we can create more development opportunities for employees, I'd love to hear them! We do have a lot of great ideas, and prioritize them based on value when we plan quarterly initiatives. Our Agile development process and scrum teams have helped us improve our execution on ideas over the past few years.
