Pros

Decent benefits Flexible with schedule Work with a great team at the branch level. Employee account with all the benefits

Cons

The culture is absolutely ridiculous. We're told not to focus on our sales goal, then reamed daily in emails showing everyone's points. They don't want you to focus on that but you'll be written up faster than your head can spin if you're behind. They are putting more focus on client conversations rather than results. This is of course causing teammates to fall short on goals. You're always looking over your shoulder with the numerous anticipatory hires on deck to take over if you screw up and get fired. They'll come up with arbitrary rules and only notify some people, which will ultimately get you in trouble without you even knowing what you did wrong. Employee morale is tanked. Even if you're blowing goals out of the water, you're not doing enough. Doesn't even make you want to work and produce because it's not good enough anyway. Crap definitely rolls downhill from upper management. Which ultimately falls in teammates lap. It's incredibly high stress to deal with this every day. I strongly do not recommend working here.

Pros

A very good reason to work here is the pay is comparable to other companies. Some employee perks like the occasional "money tree".

Cons

Some of the challenges of working here is there seems to be little work-life balance. You are expected to constantly check and respond to emails after-hours and during time-off. People here are so focused on overachieving that they set unrealistic expectations causing themselves and those around them to suffer. Very few people are genuine and cordial, they are focused on climbing to top even at the expense of others.

Pros

Good benefits, respected brand, solid employee base, opportunity to give back to the community. (Sun Trust offers an extra day off per year known as a "Day of Purpose" to allow employees to volunteer at a charitable activity of their choice.)

Cons

Cost cutting measures have been taken to extreme with the singular goal of improving the company's efficiency rating. (reduced business travel, reduced training opportunities, in some cases office cleaning is neglected to the point of diminished hygiene, elimination of coffee in the offices, scarce office supplies, adverse impact on annual raises and bonuses) No respect is given for time away. (expect to be called and questioned about business issues no matter where you are or what is going on around you)
