Pros

Feeling a part of something that is making a difference always was a plus. The clients are fantastic and fun to be working with.

Cons

Severely underpaid employees except for Senior Leadership. Some locations not kept up and are falling down. Authoritative management doesn't work well for social service.

Thank you for your review. We are excited to see that you feel you have great people to work with. We completely agree that we have a great team working here at Sunrise. We’re sorry you feel the pay is “too little.” As for pay increases, we do look at wages every year, and while raises maybe modest, as a state contracted agency, there’s not a lot of wiggle room, so we do our best. Hopefully you noticed the recent wage increase that was just announced to our team members via mail. Unfortunately, the Seattle area is deemed as a different area for pay/reimbursement than the Everett area, even though most State and Federal agencies views us as the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett area. In addition to this issue, we work extensively and exhaustively with the state to get wages increased in all of our programs, as we feel our team does such a great job, and all deserve more than the state offers for the amazing work you do. Thanks for being an employee and for the hard work you do each day!

Pros

I honestly can not think of any pros to working for this company.

Cons

You are required to use your own vehicle and the company does not cover you under a car insurance umbrella policy (which is against the law per my Insurance Broker so carry business insurance). If you get in an accident, then it's reported to your insurance company and you can be sued by the family/guardians of the client. You are not fully reimbursed for mileage, they pay well below the IRS reimbursement amount so it actually cost you to work there. Very low pay (without the possibility of a pay raise) for the level of responsibility, and the medical insurance cost is high with very high deductibles. Leadership is all about making money rather than taking care of their employees and providing a safe work environment. Lack of proper training and very high turn over for Employment Specialist.
