They only care about money!

Pros

Can be a good place to get training for new graduates if you have a second income in the home, otherwise, you will not be able to live off the pay.

Cons

Pay is very low, there are no medical benefits unless YOU pay for them. Turn over is high as they do not treat their employees very well. Case loads are very high and although they will say they understand and are there to help, it is not true. When you are not able to keep up and you say something about they will put you on probation, taking away ability to earn any sick leave, vacation time, or holiday pay, then they fire you after using you. If there were a union, this agency would be in a lot of trouble. Bottom line, they don't really care about the clients nor the employees, they only care about their money.

All about the bottom line...

Pros

I met some wonderful people in my time at Sunrise. Additionally, I had the opportunity to grow professionally and make connections with other agencies, which ultimately led to a new job opportunity. I felt that's Sunrise genuinely knows a good worker when they see it and they try to hold onto you.

Cons

The pay. It goes without saying that you can make more elsewhere. The benefits. The benefits are barely benefits. The medical coverage is a joke. The supervision. My supervisor, despite attempting to appear as though she had our best interests at heart, actually really focused much too heavily on the bottom line. I would imagine that was a company wide directive from the top down, as I saw it everywhere. Morale was consistently the worst I've ever seen on the job. It was very clear that we were dispensable, no matter how much of a star you were. When I left the company for an amazing opportunity (that I should have been encouraged to pursue), I got nothing but grief and negativity from my supervisor. They have a hard time holding onto good people, likely because workers realize they can be paid fairly and valued elsewhere.

Pros

Very little except tons of hours if you are working during your internship. The clients are great and deserve respect.

Cons

The company doesn't take into consideration the heavy workload and a work-life balance. They push you to have outrageous caseloads while expecting you to keep quiet about the unethical practices in the company. Many workers do not receive adequate supervision. They cover up cases when clinicians and case managers have have romantic relationships with their clients. This is a company that doesn't care about their clients and only focuses on "billability" or "productivity" rather than focusing on evidence-based practices, which can help clients attend to their own needs.
