Great Opportunity; excellent atmosphere; important mission

Pros

It's an exciting, energized place to work. The employees are united in a mission to change the way that people are able to purchase electricity. People work hard, and have a sense of urgency; but balance it with great camaraderie and excitement. This is a company (and industry) that is poised to change the world.

Cons

Everyone works VERY hard. That often translates into working long hours. But that's not unusual in a start-up company. We try things; we make mistakes. (Hopefully we learn from them.)

- I’m working with some of the brightest individuals I’ve ever encountered. - I’ve been given the opportunity to step up and take ownership of important initiatives. Sunrun allows you to go as far as you are driven to push yourself. - I’ve learned a lot about myself, business and the solar business. - It’s been a lot of hard work but I’m proud of the accomplishments that we’ve earned as a strong team.

Cons

- It’s a start up; there are kinks to be ironed out. It takes time and some deep breathing but the kinks are getting worked out. I don’t think everyone truly appreciates the meaning of “working for a start up”; it’s either for you or it’s not. - Sunrun is a conservative company for many legitimate reasons but we need to more fearless.

- Catalyst for disruption in one of the last standing monopolistic industries, while improving the environment - Inspiring strategic & corporate vision - Tons of smart, creative, collaborative, and motivated people - Fast growing, well-run, VC-backed company (ie. equity opportunities) - Culture based on performance rather than politics - Great opportunities to "be your own CEO" and make an impact (ie. attitude of "if you see an opportunity to fix something, do it") - Culture of "do what's best for the company" instead of "do what's easy"

Cons

- There is consistent change as the organization scales; this can be a hurdle in communication - Not yet a recognized "household brand"
