Pros

In a nutshell: -No hassles getting time off, unless it fell in the "black-out period" (December through February, roughly). From what I hear, this is industry standard. -Fair pay and fair hours. -Great benefits in a relatively short time after the Paychex acquisition.

Cons

-Severe lack of flexibility in working from home -Your job duties can completely change during the end of the year due to management's to adequately hire for new-customer onboarding as well as EOY tax paperwork and payments -Boring industry, boring office, boring suburb--and it shows in the employees -Promotions were scarce, especially in a relatively small company that prides itself in entrepreneurship -Honestly, if you look hard enough you can find a better place to work staffed by better senior management.

Pros

Casual work environment is probably the only positive of this job. I dislike almost everything about the position and cannot wait to leave.

Cons

Where to start... Incompetent and unfriendly coworkers, unwillingness to take responsibility and ownership, lack of teamwork, poor communication to name a few. There is high turnover, vacation days are quickly blacked out and must be reserved well in advance, expectations are unclear, poor organization. Upper management is rarely in the office, especially Alter, and when he is he's working on his blog.

Pros

The other CSRs are good to work beside because they all have the same attitude that the job is terrible, the company is a joke, and management has no idea what is going on.

Cons

CSRs are treated the worst out of the entire company. The office manager is given more respect then the people who are dealing with customers. The company also believes in 'Baptism by Fire', which is ok in some situations, but not when you are launching new technologies and systems that have to work in order for people's employees to get paid and have their taxes reported properly. The company also knows about all the issues they cause and problems the new software creates for its customers, but they very rarely acknowledge it. Instead of informing customers that they should be aware they might have an affected payroll, the company makes the CSRs lie to the customers and tell them they will fix it and it won't happen again (which is a lie). CSR Supervisors are also a joke. They spend most of their time ignoring the phone and trying to go behind their team's back to get someone in trouble. The turnover is extremely high-- which is why they are always hiring in that department.
