Pros

Excellent product, almost no wait for health insurance to be effective, would be a good first job or a place to work for a short time then move on to somewhere you can establish a career. It's close to some good places to get food, does that count?

Cons

Virtually no internal communication, morale is horrible despite a feigned attempt at improvement, salary laughable, no culture/sense of community, benefits degraded over time, you're supposed to follow unwritten rules, oh how I could go on.

Pros

Solid company, great co-workers, no sales quota, and a good NAS product that sells itself.

Cons

Most companies are looking to save a dime here or there, but Synology takes it to another level. Make sure you bring a water bottle and be prepared to purchase anything additional you might need (hubs, docking stations, spare power supply, etc.) for your workspace, on your own dime. This is really an entry level sales position that starts at 70k, with no commissions, regardless of what the job description says. They will train you for 4 months to become your own SE, as they don’t want to pay SE’s, and the knowledge gained is specific to Synology and not really transferable to other IT opportunities. There is little room for advancement unless you are willing to get in a very long line. Leadership is hit or miss, with some superstars and others not so much. If you wind up with the latter, it could be a very frustrating exercise in extreme micromanagement. Leadership has implied they are ready to take away the hybrid work schedule in 2023 due to employee "inefficiencies".

Pros

Quick hiring process, straightforward job description

Cons

Chronic disorganization, tendency to underpay compared to same position with other companies, no opportunity for advancement.
