Pros

Union position and ancillary benefits are great. Kaiser was 100%, same with dental and vision. Included a pension plan that was vested after 5 years. Plenty of OT can equate to some large checks.

Cons

OT comes at a cost to your body and time outside of work. Start time of 4:00am means you're up AT LEAST at 3am for every shift depending on how close you live. Schedule was okay because it was 4 10's, but you rarely work less than 12 hours in a day when you're starting out and on days off you just want to rest.
