Pros
Benefits at SPA are pretty solid, especially the 401k & potential flexible leave policy (variable by boss). Good chance for advancement if you are former military. Good way to grind out a paycheck & get a clearance until your next job or retirement. Great if you like PowerPoint & stoplight charts!
Cons
Minimal advancement potential or raises for non-military employees. No diversity - senior leadership is 100% white, ~80% former military and all but one of ~30 people are male. They (leadership) are completely out of touch with younger (20s - mid 30s) employees, especially those from civilian and/or technical backgrounds. Quality of work is not rewarded and they are reluctant, at best, to even listen to new ideas. Classic Old Sailor Retirement Home. Not a place for people that want to work hard and leave a mark through accomplishing something important.
