Pros

The Indianapolis central office appears to be more focused on technician training and test equipment needs than in the past. Good prospects if you're a project manager, director or any other admin profession.

Cons

Inexperienced technical management (their "manager plus one" program doesn't work). Poor advancement prospects for technicians (no technician hierarchy). Operations are conflicted due to the use of metrics, KPI's and other business measurement tools, trying to implement for-profit methods in a non-profit environment. Vendor related training is like making a deal with the devil as Trimedx will send a factory trained tech from their hospital to a hospital elsewhere in the U.S. to maintain/repair something that the staff is not trained on. In-sourcing tech work is flawed, unrealistic and creates staff workload due to poor planning (ex.: Drop equipment contracts then realize they need to hire more staff to support it). Procurement and purchases are unnecessarily scrutinized with double management approvals (I've yet to be denied any purchase requests since this was implemented, it just takes more time). "Use it or lose it" PTO policy is not good for technicians whose daily attendance is in large demand.

Pros

PTO is all I can think of.

Cons

Working for this company was unbearable. Management segregated the team by gender and race and emotional outbursts occurred that were completely unprovoked on numerous occasions by several individuals. In the days after I reported one such incident and several other issues I started being treated differently and was pulled out of projects. I was given administrative tasks only and told to just be patient and wait for training. Silos began to appear between departments because two managers had an ongoing disagreement. My team was told not to talk to anyone in the other department, which greatly impacted our ability to do our jobs. This caused delays in work and countless quality and operational errors that the company will be cleaning up for years. Somehow the political opinions of management were permitted during team meetings which made these meetings very uncomfortable. Very few of these weekly meetings (in the two years that I worked there) were productive. Because of this, I had to contact management outside of these meetings for work problems or questions, and typically received a response one to three business days later. When I (female) was hired in, I was told I would receive an ISO class and certification paid for by the company. I had two offers on the table and chose to work for this company because of that certification and the exposure I would gain. When it came time for me to enter the class (after being employed for a year), a male member of the team was chosen (who had been employed for 3 weeks) to take the class instead of me. I was told that they would schedule a class for me eventually but that they had no plans to set a firm date. They never offered the class again. The most recent issue was (on two separate occasions) being told by management that I had to wear a blouse for all third-party visits while the men wear polos (despite company female polos being available). I get the strong sense that members of the LGBTQ+ community would not enjoy their time with this company. I am disgusted not just by this outrageous behavior, but countless other instances of unprofessionalism. This review would be a novel if I were to provide detail on all of them. Management never knew what was going on, were constantly late, unprepared, or simply not showing up to meetings at all. There really was no support aside from my managers boss and their boss whom my manager spoke poorly of when they were not present, but both of those individuals were entirely over-worked and had way too much on their plates. Honestly, they were the only reason I stayed, but you can only take so much of this nonsense and even though both were great, it seemed like their hands were tied to address the issues going on. There was just no end in sight. HR is likely going to respond to this message by saying I should have gone to them about it. I did, as did many of my peers. Many times. Nothing changed. I understand that HR isn’t there in the moment and can’t see everything in real time, but the results speak for themselves. The company lost an entire team of 7 people since the current manager was put into position. The entire team left. When I left the company, I was the last one of the original team to go. One of those 7 employees didn’t last 4 weeks. They left after a member of management yelled at the entire team following a simple and completely reasonable question. The gaslighting was constant. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. There is little to no training and I have yet to see any real and honest accountability. I am embarrassed to list this company on my resume. I cannot express how much mental stress this job placed on me and my family. What an absolute waste of two years. If it came down to it, I would rather work in a horse stable shoveling excrement for the rest of my life than spend one more day working in that toxic environment. The pay and benefits are just not worth it.

Pros

Total mixed bag of experiences with this place, here are the pros: -Good Pay & Benefits -Christian culture -Corporate will send you to "Summit Meetings" in Indiana, where you get to listen to to leadership tell each other how great they are, and how great the company is. In fact, there are three prominent leaders (all middle aged white males) who we always called "rah rah guys", and we would be listening to HR or some other department in the middle of giving a presentation and out of nowhere one of them (usually the little 4' 9" outspoken guy) would shout something like " WOOO I LOVE THIS COMPANY!!", like we were at a Multi Level Marketing convention or something. Lots of singing songs and team building exercises. Made me feel like I was 12 at a summer camp. Or there was the bald guy who would ALWAYS yell out the one Asian Manager's name every time he walked into the room to make sure he felt special. -Lot's of nepotism here, they know that you are good stock if you are related to someone else. You will get instantly promoted, like the good old days! -Lots of diversity here, they have Irish men, Italian men, English men, German men, etc. You know, all the Eastern European countries, they are all well represented at TriMedx!

Cons

- If you work at a site where the Technicians are required to be hospital employees instead of TriMedx employees, you are in for a real treat. They will save you so much time managing them by ignoring literally everything you say. You may as well sit at home and just let them do their jobs. Who are you to tell them what to do, you're just their manager, they are the real experts! So take a load off, sit home, and just let the paychecks roll in. Its easier that way! - The hospital administration knows you're busy, so they will totally ignore you and make it clear that you are not one of them. They are all really smart people and they know best. Take the hint! Show up to the meetings to get the attendance credit, but after that just head home, you're done for the day! -TriMedx leadership is like a yummy wedding cake, lots and lots of layers! In fact, they might have more Supervisors/Managers/Directors/VP/Executive VPs than any other company known to man. Everyone gets a piece of the pie! They are really helpful too, when you tell them literally any issue you are having with the site, and even if they have direct contact that they could help mitigate the issue instantly, they instead fix everything with a simple "just keep plugging away". Remember they were all super genius techs before too so they are wicked smart, way beyond your comprehension.
