Pros

I have to say, I've made the most money I have made at any other job, especially during football season. Also, as an aspiring actress/model I enjoyed the flexibility I got most of the time. If I absolutely needed a shift covered, I would probably get it since there were so many people working. Also I have gained alot of beer knowledge and appreciation for it that I wouldn't have otherwise gotten. Food is also 1/2 off at any taco mac you dine at, which can make eating out really cheap. Also, we were allowed to drink at the restaurant after work as long as we had a shirt to change into or a jacket on.

Cons

Ah. Where to begin? First of all, the ONLY way it is bearable for me now is that I basically coerced my manager into giving me my dream schedule. It took a while for me to be able to even do it, and not everyone can get away with it I think. But yeah. The way they originally schedule you- you will be working 5 doubles in a row, 2 of them with NO breaks. Yes, I said you get NO breaks on doubles on football days. I've worked 16 hour shifts STRAIGHT before. Talk about exhaustion! And people wonder why the service can sometimes be less than stellar!! It's absolutely ridiculous. But see, it seems as though the managers could care less. ALSO- as far as serving jobs in general go- this has to be the most stressful one I've ever had because not only are you responsible for your section- you're responsible for running everyone else's food AND drinks, and cleaning and bussing your own tables along with sometimes other people's sections as well. We are also responsible for checking and cleaning the bathrooms along with changing out the toilet paper/paper towels/trash during shifts. They really expect too much of us, honestly. Also, we are constantly reprimanded and scolded for asinine things, and if you try to take a break for one second you will get scolded for being lazy. It's like they don't treat you like you are a human being, but rather a robot. It's very degrading. Also, sometimes even after you're cut it can take ages to actually leave because the amount of sidework you have to do is ridiculous. And checkout procedures are extremely tedious. Basically- here's the thing. I'm literally only here because I live across the street and I make pretty good money. I'm not planning on staying there long or moving up in the company at all. It's one of the most stressful, physically demanding places I've ever worked.
