Pros

Honestly the only pro I have is the relationship with my customers.I love some of the girls I've worked with over the years like family but going forward company really only cares about hiring the cheapest hourly employees there are and it sucks now.Doesn't matter if they fit for the job, just get a body to feel the spot at little pay.

Cons

Terrible hours and not good benefits. They continually take from store employees to pack upper pockets.Put all these fancy programs in place but yet they take away the red line phone. The company was founded on the red doors and red phone .Take that away and see what you have.My God you're not all that.Replace the carpet and the dingy pant, clean up the store fronts and make sure it's even safe to shop there. If you've worked there a long time and are a dedicated employee you are discriminated against..Make less and less the longer you work there when the manager gets more for totaling reaking havoc on the business running off customers left and right.DM is totally clueless on why things are done wrong.Heres a clue...Look at the manger ,does she fit in there,is she capable?Well no,no,and no.

Pros

The discount and the most of customers!

Cons

I worked and talbots for almost 10 years. Once I decided to leave I called my DM to give her a heads up. She stated she would call me in a few day to do an exit interview. She never called me. It funny how multiple long term employees left in her district and she doesnt want to find out the reason why. Not enough payroll hours to run the store at its full potential. Not enough payroll to accomplish task like floor move after hours so you have to do it during the day. We should not be open on hoildays like july 4th and new years. The store is slow and you could save the payroll money! Upper management(DM) is snoddy and if you are not part of the mangement team in the store they dont get to know the employees.

Pros

Great sales people and very nice customers.

Cons

Horrible management! Very lazy and rude managers. They will call you 1 hr. before you have to work to say don't come to work because business is slow. Discount is okay. 60% for new arrivals for 1 week and 50% after but you must use a Talbots credit card to get that discount or you will only get 40% off. Most companies do not do that. There should be the same discount for everyone. They do not give you breaks and do not pay holiday pay. They do not have company parties for the staff or give them small gifts of appreciation . They say that Nordstrom is their competitor but we all know that is ridiculous because we are in 2 different leagues, Nordstrom being so much better.
