Pros

Most clients were wonderful to assist

Cons

Very Low Pay for what is expected, workhours were erratic, management really pushed for credit cards, and no bonus or raises unless you're in management . Did reviews with employees to focus how employee can improve, but no raise or incentive. Clothes are imported and for the price paid some of the clothes needed more quality control.

Pros

The customers can be awesome...some have become friends, in fact!

Cons

The overall quality of the materials has been debased over the years. Modal is a terrible fabric and doesn't hold up well. Sometimes, clothes look 5 years old after having washed them just a few times. Instead of giving the sales associates bonuses for their hard work, low pay, and lack of insurance benefits, Talbots has begun to offer "Team Rewards," meaning sales associates are expected to raise the bar on sales and sell Talbots Credit Cards in exchange for making store goals. Problem is, only the managers, asst managers, key holders, and client specialists reap the real benefits of this awards programs. It's laughable when Managers post "Save up for your trips!" in the morning roster. If we meet the target goal, client specialists and up receive 500 points. Sales associates get 10...or maybe 50. Plus the client specialists make a mess of the floor while catering to clients, leave the fitting rooms a mess, etc. expecting sales associates to clean up after them. Where's the "TEAM" in that???

Pros

Friendly associates. Understanding Assistant Managers and Key Holders.

Cons

Manager causes drama in store by repeating things that are meant to be kept confidential. Manager reprimands associates that are not considered her friends but allows the same behaviors to continue from her friends. Manager denies breaking rules when confronted by HR.
