CEO is smart, friendly, fair, and inspiring

Cons

* rare opportunity for growth = no promotions * minimal to no annual reviews or raises * head-down mentality all the time = do not have friendly banter with other employees when working * no regard for work/life balance = no lunches & get in on time, but stay as late as you have to * monitors employees comings/goings * favoritism & manipulation between employees * beware of certain dept supervisors / leadership = manipulating, fake, toxic, harassment

Pros

Our store is very successful and our store manager is consistently encouraging us to do better with what we have to work with which is no PAYROLL If it wasn't for her I would leave

Cons

They just came out with OUR MANTRA....what a joke, all about customer service, when you have two - three employees on the sales floor and many other tasks customer service is NOT good. Our President should see there is no family work balance at all. I bring work home so I can complete all my tasks concerning events, trunk shows, emailing customer etc. WE NEED PAYROLL

Pros

Co-workers are nice, most customers are regulars and you can get to know them. Good discount. The clothes are pretty nice, if repetitive.

Cons

Constant, constant, constant pressure to sell credit cards. They say the focus is on HER (the customer). Really, the focus is on bullying HER to open a credit card. Constant unnecessary tasking, completely unrealistic expectations on workload. Stores get a completely redone Floor Set monthly, and upper management basically expects you to do it without spending payroll. All upper management wants is constant smiling, constant agreeing and an #iamtalbots on your social media page. Never heard of Glassdoor until my DM told all of us to come on here to give Talbots a rave review, so that it would make the company look good. Constant turnover of managers. If you work there, do NOT give honest feedback on anything. Nod and smile, or face the consequences.
