Pros

Flexible hours and scheduling, pretty good work environment. I've held this job throughout college and it has treated me well. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a temporary/during school job. Not so much a career.

Cons

Not much room for growth. Raises aren't the best, but they come every year. Some of the managers are crappy, but their quality will depend on what store you work at

Pros

Some of my co-workers were pretty awesome to be around, including a couple supervisors. Also, it was pretty easy to get someone to cover my shift if I needed it, but that's probably because....

Cons

...... There's not enough hours. Target doesn't want to give anyone benefits but the higher-ups, so us lowly peons must survive on a poverty wage. The pay is garbage, and you're lucky if you get a 10 cent raise after a year, no matter how good you do. Only ONE person in the entire store is allowed to get an "excellent" score on their review, and that person is the GM. Also, the management is idiotic.

Pros

Extremely flexible with my hours for school, both while attending a community college and now while at university. I've been able to take leaves of absence for 6+ months for entire semesters of school and be able to return to work over school breaks and receive 30-40 hrs/week. This isn't necessarily typical, but I have also been at the same location for over 5 years and I am cross-trained in practically all departments (i.e. don't expect to start as a seasonal hire in November and be able to request 6 months off for the Spring semester).

Cons

One step above manual labor Very little thinking involved - mostly just complete whatever menial tasks are assigned by team leaders while completing your daily assignment (pushing/pulling CAFs, backroom, zoning, etc.) Extremely superficial recognition during morning/nightly team meetings
