Pros

I met and dealt with a lot of customers. The team leaders were always good to deal with and reasonable. When I broke my arm (non-job related), they were very forthcoming in giving me sick leave and sick pay for the time I was out. I really enjoyed working there and my age was never held against me.

Cons

The office supervisors were a bit too anal about focusing on the speed at which I moved along when checking people out, despite the fact that all slow down activity was not of my doing (customer questions, supervisor call, difficulty with products that did not have proper UPC stamping, etc.). They had cashiers handle cleaning the bathrooms which I find very unclean and prone to spreading infection.

Pros

My coworkers were very kind. This trait is sometimes hard to find in some work environments. My HR department was also kind enough to work with my school schedule and also my personal request when it came to the days I need.

Cons

As a retail job, the downside is the same for most similar jobs in this field. Some guests or customers will demand more then what you or even your store maybe able to provide. Also I felt that the wages that people may receive at Target would be low not due to hourly pay, however, do to the amount of hours that Target may provide. However, that issue can be dependent to the store you may be in.

Pros

Flexible with hours. There is a schedule swap where employees can swap hours if they need time off or want to work more hours. Pretty lenient with asking for days off if done at least 2 weeks ahead of time.

Cons

Cashiering is a boring and repetitive job to me. If you like dealing with people then this is more of a pro.
