Communication is good, but HR is problematic
Pros
Good communication with the TLs and teammates. Achievable targets. Work from home (until now).
Cons
Intransparent HR managed from overseas: They make a lot of crucial decisions for the teammates through their anonymity. Not even the TLs are aware of these decisions. Lots of mistakes by Payroll: When you urge them to be more careful and warn them about taking legal action, they just withdraw your right to work overtime. Moreover, there is excessive gatekeeping on their internal platform when a worker needs to raise an issue; it is troublesome to upload the required documents because they are sent to personal emails, and access to personal email through the work PC is forbidden. Pressure to make remote workers hand over their resignation: This happens after a project starts being transferred to the office. They tell many workers their contracts will be terminated in the near future, just not when. When I asked for a specific timeframe, HR wrote an anonymous email telling me that I could initiate the termination process myself. Gradual dismantling: They gradually dismantled all the aspects that made it a good project to work for: the team meetings, and the flexibility to work any 8 hours during the day or afternoon when we had chores to do.
