Pros

Some interesting work because of the variety of products being sold throughout Taylor companies. The company is open to transferring personnel to other companies.

Cons

Taylor owns over 150 companies. For people who work at one of these companies, Taylor is slowly but surely removing their independence and removing them from making their own decisions. Basically, from a IT and business perspective, Taylor's corporate departments are absorbing everything because they are trying to justify their own existence. I've seen this before at many other big companies with a "big parent" company. Pay has been stagnant for years now because merit increases are based on the performance of Taylor as a whole. Even meeting or exceeding your goals does not guarantee any rate increase. We haven't seen one for years now. For highly motivated and paid professionals who believe in making their own decisions, whether it is what kind of IT software to use, development direction or marketing strategy, you have no say. This would not be a good place to work for you since your hands are tied.

Pros

Large corporation that allows you to move from one of their companies to the other with little issue.

Cons

No oppurtunity for pay raises or advancement. Management will look you in the eye and tell you that you are doing terrific however when it comes to review time they will state that you are only doing a fair job to prevent any need for a pay raise. I was used to create a cut list then made to be a scapegoat for those laid off. When I contested I was laid off myself. Company as a whole is abusive in their treatment of personnel. Personally highly recommend staying away from this company as both an employee and as a customer.

Pros

The ability to transfer to almost any other state in the U.S. and stay within the company. People have long stayed with Taylor Corp for 20 years plus, but rarely work in one place for all of that time.

Cons

Advancements, promotional opportunities and pay do not come easily. Even outstanding performers are often payed at the same rate as lower performers. Feedback is often not honest or misleading in order to delay decisions or to have more control over employees. You are "just a number" and they will go to any length to prove you are replaceable.
