There is a ton of room for improvement

Pros

Young company and growing. Most employees are very helpful and good to work with. Team motivation from the senior staff is always high.

Cons

Low tier employees get minimal pay. Work is extremely repetitive with impossibly short turnarounds. Project become stale and not creative. Favoritism is a big problem among the creative management. Those favored tend to belittle lower tier employees if work does not fit their personal needs, even though it exceeds the criteria of the project. No room for growth.

Dear Former Employee Thank you for your feedback and I am glad to hear you enjoyed the people you work with along with the senior staff! One of Team Velocity's goals as an organization is to provide our team members with all the tools and support they need to continue to grow while working at Team Velocity. It's surprising to hear that you do not feel there are enough opportunities for growth, specifically in our creative department. We recently promoted three employees to Sr. Designer and one to Creative Director! As far as favoritism goes, Team Velocity understands, at times, it's healthy for management to favor and reward an employee who is always willing to collaborate and offer up real solutions. This can even motivate employees to deliver better results. It’s also important for employees to distinguish favoritism from performance recognition. We had instances where employees have seen peers getting opportunities they were not receiving and perceiving that as favoritism. On further investigation, it turned out those employees were working extra hours, going above and beyond to earn the confidence of their manager and, ultimately, earning those chances for advancement. But when the boss favors someone in the office without real merit that at its core is unprofessional behavior and is addressed. Again, thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

If you have less than 5 years experience it's a great place to work and make friends. You won't develop any career strengths for your future but you'll get a great job title.

Cons

Pay in most cases is low, unless your "in" with the owner and the "in" crowd that close to his family. All salesman, no real passion for your biz just to increase your budget, that's why MD's make so much in commission. Only care about 3 clients so they can throw their name around as a references. Clients beware, it's all automated and not custom at all. You pick a template and you'll find a mistake on 75% of the direct mail pieces anyway. You likely have a 22 year old handling your account.

Dear Valued Employee, We know it takes a lot of courage to leave a review as a current employee, so we thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. At Team Velocity, we do things a bit differently. Job titles are subjective terms and vary from company to company; our job titles are a reflection of our internal company structure, not necessarily the entire industry. We are proud to be a company that doesn’t pigeonhole employees into a ridged corporate ladder, but rather allows employees to carve out their own path to success through their hard work and dedication to servicing our clients. You don’t have to be a senior to win the Heisman, you just have to be the best at what you do. Employees who are fueled by a passion to make a positive impact on our clients and find satisfaction in their client’s success are rewarded, regardless of length of employment. We work closely with every one of our clients to ensure their overall happiness and satisfaction with the products we provide. You’re right, not every client gets custom artwork on every campaign, but they do get a customized strategy tailored to their specific goals and a dedicated team who is passionate about helping them reach their greatest potential. Our award-winning campaigns have a proven track record of success, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t continuously evolving to be better. We are forever a work in progress and without our dedicated team, we wouldn’t have achieved so many pillars of success, like our Premier SMB Partnerships with Google and Bing or our placement on Inc. 5000’s list of Fastest Growing Companies each year. These strides were made possible by the wonderful clients we have partnered with and by people like you, who challenge us to break the status quo and do things differently. We are always pursuing perfection so if you have any suggestions for how our products or processes can improve, we would love for you to come forward and share your ideas with us.

Dear Former Employee, Thank you for taking the time to write a review! At Team Velocity Marketing, our employees are our lifeblood; ensuring their happiness is what makes us happy. We strive to show our employees how much we value them by offering loads of benefits from a competitive salary to healthcare coverage and gym memberships, to fun social events and ample PTO to enjoy a breather from the busy agency life. With that being said, we are constantly striving to be better. One of our company’s core values is to achieve more together, therefore, we have always encouraged our team to share their ideas with our leaders so we can implement positive changes and keep our employees happy. We took to heart what our employees had to say, and kicked off 2016 by launching a new company-wide matching 401(k) program (YAY!!). We’re sorry you left before you had the opportunity to watch us act on your feedback, but we thank you for being one of the many voices who made this change possible. At Team Velocity, we are a collection of passionate, talented and diverse individuals who have come together as one. Our vision was to build an environment that fosters creativity, promotes diversity and encourages new ideas. As we grow our team, we take the time to select individuals who can bring a unique perspective to our company and enhance our culture. Whether you are a recent college grad or have been in the industry for 20 years, we value those who share this vision. One of the benefits of being a smaller company is that employee voices can be heard, something that makes us unique in the industry. We understand that our open environment isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. Maybe a larger, more formal office setting suits you better. In any event, we thank you for the time you spent with us and wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.
