The most micro managed company of all time, especially on the HART side. It all starts with the upper management. The territory managers, who over see the reps, really don’t have a say on your career growth even though that’s the individual a rep reports to every day. It’s these divisional managers (the territory managers boss) that has a say on your career growth even though they barely know what that individual rep is all about. They only judge that rep from one visit. When the divisional manager visits a rep for the day, they basically tell them what a horrible job they are doing and give them these unrealistic expectations to be “better” at their job. If you get an offer to be on the HART side, say no immediately. You’re basically another Walmart employee and you have to work with those Walmart employees every day. Most of those Walmarts aren’t willing to work with you. A lot of HART reps have 6-7 stores they over see. While some stores require long distance travel, TTI is not accommodating for travel time at all. It is overall not a very well put together company.

As a rep, there are few opportunities to really use your degree. This job can be done by someone with no education. You are a glorified store associate and have to work against the store’s staff to get what TTI wants done, and doesn’t usually see eye to eye with what the store would like. This creates a lose lose scenario. In the office setting (bentonville), culture is very bi-polar. It’s fun to have a corporate setting with co-workers that are your age and share the misery of having been a rep, but management is very profit driven and have no regard for the overall culture of the employees in the office. I was hired to the office when sales had been bad, and they knew that when they gave me the ‘promotion’. I was given added work load with high expectations, and barely a lift pay compared to when I was a rep, but the company truck was taken. After a couple months of continued declining overall sales (which were due to consumer spending, not a lack of efforts in the employees, higher management thought the best course of action to save the company money was to lay off employees that helped manage the backbone of the business. I hope saving them a couple of $60k salaries really moves the needle on being down millions. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for an actual career, as this company is every man for themselves and everyone puts on a mask.
