Pros

None, Tenet is the poster child for everything and anything that is wrong with for profit healthcare. Mode of operation is to buy up distressed hospitals and cut spending on staff and equipment to boost profitability. While some local leadership is somewhat competent overall this "top down" organization is driven by profit to the detriment of care and safety.

Cons

Some of the arthroscopic and surgical equipment was 3 generations outdated, with poor optical resolution and marginally functioning instrumentation. Imaging was still retained in analog VCR format. Some data systems are DOS based relics, with a elevated risk of data loss and integrity compromise. Unable to retain highly qualified clinical and administrative staff, in the four hospitals I worked with.

Pros

The front line staff are very skilled and genuinely care about what they do.

Cons

The company is out of touch with markets and employees. There is no professional development or succession planning. Administration is clique, and if they don't like someone, they will gossip about the person at meetings and then squeeze the person until they quit. The company has had to settle several multi-hundred million dollar lawsuits recently due to fraud and mismanagement, yet the corporate administration is still in place. The work environment is unhealthy, both physically and mentally.

Senior leadership very knowledgeable and easy to work with. good pay and benefits. Hotel accommodations and travel application easy to work with

Cons

The future of the company is unpredictable and they do occasionally have layoffs. Although this is not a con they do provide severance packages as needed
